What brand of shampoo is used? Just curious because we really enjoyed the scent and feel! We stayed there late Sept 2023.

Russell saved my review. Upon arrival I was greeted by an impeccably patient staff member (I had misplaced my Marriott credit card and was searching for it while he was booking my room). Normally as a gold elite member I receive a warmer welcome, but I understand not everyone preforms the same way, he was still efficient and patient with me. I went to my room only to find some items let behind from the previous guests (NOTHING MAJOR) I just felt that perhaps the room wasn't cleaned to my high standard. I called the front desk and a woman apologized for my findings and said she would send housekeeping up.

Me being me, I requested a brand new room, she accommodated graciously, but then I met Russell. Russell saved my day, and I don't mean that hyperbolically. This hospitality professional not only was ready to move me without hesitation, he acknowledged my gold elite status and upgraded my room to his "favorite room".

Room 333 has to be the best room on the property. I am floored, not only at the room, but his willingness to not only acknowledge me and my issues but to see me as a person and help me. Russell, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Came here recently and stayed for four nights on a work trip. I've been to Coronado many times but never snagged a per diem room on the island before so this was a treat.

It does need some updates to the rooms but they were comfy and quiet and the location is excellent if you're working on Coronado as I was. It's a huge resort and my room was 369 far at the end by the water I had lovely views of the bay and bridge.

A $42 self park fee is ridiculous anywhere if you ask me so that is a bit much and the $40 resort fee is overpriced as well. This includes gym use, bike rentals (for two hours) etc. we did use bikes one day and half the tires were flat and they're very basic and hard to maneuver.

Staff at the front were very friendly and helpful and check-in was a breeze. Wi-Fi worked well on my third floor room.

All in all - I enjoyed my stay but the inflated prices aren't supported by the outdated rooms and various other issues I saw. The pool wall has been under renovations for months based on other reviews and was still. This obstructs the main view from the single restaurant as well as makes loud noise. The sauna was broken. Etc etc.

We had a wonderful time celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary at the Coronado Island Marriot. Our room looked out towards the bay, and right in front of us was the hotel's main wedding area. We had the privilege of watching two weddings that weekend, which was perfect for our anniversary.

The hotel is centrally located next to a number of excellent restaurants and shops. The pool and hot tubs were big, and nice to lounge by. The hotel's highlight might be their incredible steam room in the spa.

Everyone at the hotel took wonderful care of us, including the front desk staff and especially event coordinator Cathy De La Cruz.

It's the perfect place for out-of-towners or mainland San Diegans to get a taste of island life!

Nice clean room. Furnishings can use updating. Parking is expensive. Breakfast was good - Salmon Benedict and Avocado Toast. Attentive service.

As stayed 3 days here, service was outstanding and views were great. Dinner at the restaurant a few night which didn't disappoint and we did the brunch buffet on Sunday morning! Get the buffet if you're hungry! All the staff was great. We will deff be back!

Two stars from the hubs, three from me. He is Marriott Titanium and on check in asked for an upgraded room, which we got - a bay view room on the quieter side of the hotel. We took three steps in and were greeted by the smell of dog pee. We're dog owners and so appreciate the property being dog-friendly. We didn't have ours with nor did we appreciate the smell. And while the hotel respected our request to move, part of our rating is the tired and not always clean carpets, bedding etc.

The room was large with a nice size bath, bed was okay, pillows were anemic. Housekeeping was attentive.

Overall the property has a comfortable feel but it's pricey for the quality and condition. We appreciated that with Marriott status, breakfast was free - either a la carte or buffet - and is fine. You can eat inside or out. The hotel is very conveniently located and a short ride to Coronado Beach. Beach chairs and towels are available as well (Note that if you're driving, it's gated access to those things and if you're using the valet your room key will not work so you have to pull a ticket and buzz valet staff to get in and out.) Staff here was very friendly and helpful.

      Not terrible but not great.

CONSTRUCTION AREA IN POOL FOR MONTHS - BLOCKING VIEW OF THE BEAUTIFUL BAY.
It is so sad that I have to write this review - we've been coming for the summer 2023 and we love to sit facing the Bay. The lounge chairs are SUPER hard and uncomfortable. Then we had to endure this view of "construction" for the whole summer. It is disgraceful.

An overall 3.5 star rating for this hotel is appropriate . Great location overlooking downtown San Diego and the shipyard. This hotel does not have beach access but they have a nice size pool and hot tub with a bar that serves up some great cocktails. Adjacent to the pool they have lots of games - cornhole, ping pong, etc and they showed a movie the night we were there too.
The rooms were very large but a little worn and noise was an issue - the rooms all have exterior doors.
The hotel is also walking distance to a lot of bars and restaurants, which I recommend as the food onsite was pretty average.
The space overall is light and airy and a great place if staying on the island!

Probably the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel. Not only is the staff insanely rude and not helpful with anything having to do with the stay but they also threatened to charge me double my stay for checking out early after already paying full price for the room through Orbitz. The issue was I paid full price for the room via Orbitz, I wanted to leave a night early just because, didn't request money back didn't call to cancel just figured I would go home early, when I did this the hotel told me I had to pay for the entire night because I'm checking out early.....even though I had already paid for the room in full for the night through Orbitz, so I was forced to stay an additional night to avoid being charged double for the room. Beyond this the hotel which location is nice is pretty horrible. The bar and food was over priced and not good at all, ton of near by restaurants that are much better. Don't bother calling down for anything or asking about anything in the area staff cannot be bothered and don't seem to care at all. I've never met such a horrible experience with staff at a hotel. It is also $42 a day to self park your car in their garage.

I think the Coronado Island Marriot is a decent hotel and quite affordable in comparison to the other hotels in the area. We did not want to stay in downtown but instead more of a serene family friendly hotel which this one is. The views from the hotel are breathtaking! Lots of great spots to take photos! When we arrived, the lady at the front desk was friendly and provided great service. When we entered our hotel room, it was a bit of a disappointment as the room is definitely outdated. They don't offer that many amenities and the room could use a fresh upgrade. During our stay, I found 2 spiders as well. The views though from our room patio were amazing and made the stay pleasant.

Cleaning crew did a great job and overall it was a good stay. I only hope they can upgrade their rooms and make it more modern.
