What residential street should I try to park on?

      A:

If you get there early enough any residential parking shouldn't be an issue. It def filled up as the morning got later. We arrived by 9 on a Saturday and didn't have any issues. 10 would have been fine too. We drove to the shop first and then found… more

I had a pleasant experience with Bike and Kayak tours! The check in process for our kayak tour was easy and the customer service was great. My boyfriend and I toured w/ Michael who was very knowledgeable and friendly. He eased my boyfriend's nerves who was a first time (and very reluctant) kayaker. We watched other touring companies enter caves and their clients capsized (lol). However with Mike's attention to detail, skilled timing, and effort he safely moved us in and out of the cave and throughout the water tour seamlessly. I would highly recommend this company as safety is as much a priority as having fun!

Don't wait! Book the tour and ask for Michael!

We came to the tour around 4:30pm on March 19th and I have to say that it was a really great experience. We had a small group and our tour guide Maddy was really welcoming and nice. On the tour we went out and saw several marine animals and it was really fun. Overall I would definitely do it again and recommend it to anyone who likes the ocean and seeing the beautiful wildlife. Thank you to Maddy and the whole team for the opportunity!

      4.5/ 5 stars

The only reason it's not a 5 star reviews is because my two friends had trouble getting past the waves and weren't offered any help (according to them).

Nathan was our tour guide & he was funny, knowledgeable, and patient with our group. He would often stop and wait for everyone to catch up before proceeding. He took us inside the Clam Cave & snapped our picture. We got to see Garibaldi fish & sea lions. This was my first time kayaking and it was a great one.

Also, they were very affordable compared to the next door spot that also offered kayaking. They have lockers you can rent, I believe the large locker was $15 and they sell waterproof phone pouches for $10.

Had the best experience kayaking to the caves with our tour guides, both Kaylee and Will. They both seems are well train with many experiences about kayaking and the locations. Definitely give this place a try when you come here for a trip.

My husband and I decided to do a Kayaking Tour for our first anniversary. I will say it was one of the best decisions ever!

So this tour is very laid back. The tour guides are not rushing you to any spot. They make sure you are doing everything correctly and safe. Since you do have to put in physical effort into paddling a kayak, they let you do it at your speed. You do not have to be physically fit to do this, just comfortable with using your upper body to paddle along.

Nessa and Ben were our tour guides today and they were amazing! They were funny, provided good instructions, and had a lot of interesting information, a lot of it we have never heard about. The story of the Smiling Ben Cave was hilarious. Also kayaking over the Emerald Cove was beautiful.

The price was also great! It was like $89 for a kayak (either single or double) which includes the gear and the tour. You can rent a locker for about $7 and they can sell you a waterproof case for your phone (about $20 plus tax). For 2 people on a 2 hour tour, we got away with under $130. It was a lot of fun for a pretty good price in San Diego.

I totally recommend this as a fun way to be introduced to kayaking and as a cool, slightly different, way to explore San Diego.

Well-run operation, good value. Had a great experience on our kayak cave tour. Will was a great guide. Very knowledgeable of the are with a couple of "groaner" jokes

Store isn't too far from the beach where the kayaks are. Easy walk. Can go barefoot, if needed. Foot wash was a nice touch. Lockers available to rent for your keys, phone, wallet. Should have gotten it for free with the Yelp check-in

Living the life in La Jolla

We made a day trip down the coast to San Diego while in LA on vacation. One main stop had to be La Jolla with its beautiful coastline and abundant wildlife.

We were able to book directly with the merchant who gladly matched the Groupon pricing (preferred scenario for both parties).

The staff was friendly and professional and ensured we all felt safe and prepared for our adventure. Out on the water we were able to see a multitude of sea life (sea lions, zebra sharks, girabaldie and even a pod of dolphins at the end)

The crew keep things fun and informative! I would highly recommend this company if your interested in a tour but not wanting to venture out alone, although they do rent the equipment if you want to venture out!

Enjoy this beautiful area and underwater treasure in La Jolla.

These two lovely ladies were extremely accommodating. I had made a mistake while bringing my family and placed a date wrong.

Whoever owns this establishment needs to give these two a raise. We're very fortunate for these two to be here.

If you want to experience the sea caves in La Jolla, but are nervous, this is the place to go to get a guided tour. The tour guides are super friendly and have quite the sense of humor. On our tour we had Ben and I think Tom... maybe joe? Anyway, this place allows kids as young as 5 so it was perfect for us.

As we approached I was a little nervous as there was a little swell in the water. Large enough to make some of the caves very unreasonable. When we arrived at our cave, Ben paddled into the cave to scout how rough it was. Then came back out, parked his kayak, jumped in the water and it was go time.

In order to keep you safe, the guides, in our case Ben, put on fins and will guide 2 boats into the cave at a time. Ben showed excellent wave knowledge as he timed it perfectly to make the trip into the cave effortless. Mind you I was in a tandem boat with my 6year old daughter who did not have a paddle. All I really needed to do was ensure we stayed away from the walls of the cave.

Once inside, the cave opens up and the waters calm down. Inside there were a bunch of seals resting on the cliff walls. We hung out inside for a short bit while Ben told us stories about the cave and then it was time to head out. Again Ben timed it perfectly so that we glided out with ease. We had a couple young kids on the trip and they all agreed that getting into the ocean was far more scary than the cave. While I was happy to hear that, I think the sense of security was greatly aided by Ben's confidence in the water.

Anyway, if you are in town and have time, this is definitely worth the time. And if you are really adventurous, you can even try the snorkel tour where they take you snorkeling in the caves.

      Tips:

      1) if your group is the first one to get there, get into the cave ASAP. There will be other groups coming and it becomes a bit of a cluster.

      2) the surf report was 2-3 ft. If it was much bigger I think the risk of tipping as you paddle through the surf would increase and it could make the caves to dangerous to enter. So if you can, check Surfline for the surf report before booking.

      3) you will get wet. So be prepared with something to keep your electronics dry. Best to pick something up on Amazon before you go. On the way in, there is a decent chance you will tip. Of course the smaller the waves the less risk. But when we went, 2 of the 10+ boats tipped. The beach crew actually saved both my boat and my wife's boat from tipping.

      4) take only what you need. They will rent you a locker for $8 but why waste the money. Leave whatever you don't need on the trip in the car. They don't give you a dry bag so anything you don't need will either need to be in a locker or left on the beach.

Trip out of the cave. You can see the swell rounding the corner on the left.
