Event Description:
The Coronado Historical Association will commemorate John D. Spreckels—a pioneer in Coronado’s early history—at the Museum’s annual gala on February 24th. This year's Hawaiian theme celebrates Spreckels' legacy as a forefather of the Coronado community who brought the Hawaiian Islands to our own “Island.” Before coming to Coronado, Spreckels built his shipping empire out of his family's success in the sugar industry in Hawaii. The family's ties in the tropical islands extended to the Hawaiian Royal Family, who even visited Spreckels and his wife at the Hotel del Coronado. Join us at the Hotel Del for a night to celebrate and remember. --Cocktail reception --Silent Auction --Live Auction --Gourmet dinner --Live Hawaiian entertainment All of the proceeds from “Raise the Paddle” will benefit the Museum’s educational and outreach programs that include the Third Grade Program, STEAM workshops, Summer Camps, Jr. Historian Program, and community events.
